Meet the Builder Behind Cowboy Country Kitchens – Custom Outdoor Kitchens
My name is James, and I’m the hands-on craftsman behind Cowboy Country Kitchens. I’m a custom outdoor kitchen builder based in Statham, Georgia, with decades of real-world experience in construction, carpentry, and custom builds.
Cowboy Country Kitchens started in the spring of 2020 with a simple idea: outdoor kitchens should be built for how people actually live and cook outdoors — not mass-produced, cookie-cutter setups that fall apart after a few seasons. I believe your outdoor kitchen should feel like a natural extension of your home, built to last and built right.
Back in 2020, I was forced to retire from the 9-5 due to a group of fairly serious spinal cord and hip issues. So, I started building outdoor kitchens here at my home as a way to stay somewhat active, pay some bills, and because I still enjoy building. Unable to work a regular job, this keeps me active, social, and relevant for my family.

I didn’t get into this business from behind a desk. My background comes from decades of hands-on work in construction, framing, remodeling, and fine carpentry.
